Something has been right in front of us, and yet many of us couldn't see it. The entire discography of SB19 is an entire saga, complete with a Prologue and an Epilogue. When they debuted, they already had an outline of how they wanted their career and music to be. GITZ was the prologue or the brief introduction of the group. It set the stage for who the group and its members will be. Wakas at Simula is the inevitable epilogue of the trilogy that is Pagsibol, Pagtatag, and Simula at Wakas. Recently, SB19 announced a new album coming up on March 27, 2026, called Wakas at Simula.
In my opinion, this is not SAW's twin but a continuation of the cycle of the beginning and the end, with the symbol of a semicolon representing the new album. The semicolon is used to connect two independent clauses closely related to one another. Two sentences that can stand on their own are placed in a single sentence to strongly present a thought. With the previous EP, Simula at Wakas, and now, Wakas at Simula, it continues the never-ending cycle of the beginning and the end. A strong statement that, since their debut, SB19 has never and will never stop.
In biblical terminology, the beginning and the end are called the Alpha and the Omega. Pablo, as a solo artist, has his own lore of being a werewolf. In werewolf mythology, one can rise to be an alpha either by taking another alpha's power or, as it was portrayed in one of my favorite teen fantasy series, Teen Wolf, by sheer force of will and character to become a True Alpha. He and his entire family are very religious. Their humility despite Pablo's success never changed, and I am a witness to it. I've had the opportunity to meet Tita Grace in Havre. A timid, soft-spoken woman with so much gratitude and kindness in her heart, and so does Pablo.
He remains humble despite his success because he knows he can fall just as quickly as he rose. A characteristic of a True Alpha, which applies to all members of SB19. Their rise to stardom was not because they took their power from another; they worked hard for it. They all knew that they could fall just as quickly as they had risen, and so they worked continuously hard for everything.
As they end the Ikalawang Yugto with Simula at Wakas, they are about to usher in a new era with Wakas at Simula. This is a continuation of a statement, a continuation of hard work, and raising the flag of our motherland.
Now, is Wakas at Simula an epilogue? From what Pablo shared about Ikalawang Yugto, it is a trilogy of Pagsibol, Pagtatag, and Simula at Wakas. After SAW, the next announcement should've been the end of the trilogy, and after that, the beginning of the chapter in their career. Instead, they dropped hints that the coming concert in April and the upcoming album will mark a new beginning. With Pablo's background as a poet and avid reader, Ken's love of anime, and Josh's gaming, it's not surprising that they also have a penchant for world-building and lore. Just look at Ken's solo songs, Bulan and his 7sins, Josh's Wild Tonight, and Pablo's Alon and Laon albums, as well as Determinado. Match that with Justin's creativity and Stell's quick thinking, and the possibilities for SB19 are limitless.
If we were to compare all their eras to a novel, GITZ is the blurb. The hook to get the readers interested and make them read the story. Ikalawang Yugto is the canon story split into three parts: Pagsibol (where they introduced themselves), Pagtatag (where they strengthen themselves), and Simula at Wakas (where they conclude the story). But great world-building brings out a complex flow of story, so there's the Wakas at Simula, the epilogue, where a new beginning, a Volume 2 of the story, will be hinted at or introduced.
In the pub mat of WAS, there were two torches, which could be the representation of Alab, one of the songs in their GITZ. The five people looking up could also be a representation of their viral song, Go Up. It is also weird that the roots of the tree were highlighted in the tapestry, which could be seen as the representation of Pagsibol. Now, what is a tapestry? According to some research, the first recorded tapestry weaving was around 1483 and 1411 BCE. Tapestry weaving was used to record significant events and historical facts, and one of the most well-known tapestries is the Bayeux Tapestry. It is a significant piece of history as it depicts the Norman Conquest of England, when William the Conqueror fought King Harold II in the Battle of Hastings. Using it in the pub mat clearly portrays SB19's history.
Placing the four symbols they've used so far to represent the eras of Ikalawang Yugto is an indication that those four are the cornerstones of their career, even with the fact that Wakas at Simula hasn't been released yet. The group never does anything for nothing. Every action they take, every guesting, festival performance, everything is aligned with what they've already planned, and they plan big time. From Pagsibol to Wakas at Simula, they already knew what they were supposed to do five years ago. The outcome of each EP or album may have been unknown, but their path has already been set. This is why the symbols were the cornerstones of their career. From the moment they began planning, possibly after GITZ, they were ready, whatever happened. They may have changed or modified a few details along the way, but the backbone of the story, the outline, remained the same.
The 1Z and A'tin logos, placed on either side, show how both the company and the fandom have been protecting and guarding the group, keeping them safe. Whenever some troll or basher tries to destroy the group's reputation with fake news and unverified accusations, A'tin will be there, armed with receipts so fast that it will make anyone's head spin. Some of the members of 1Z Entertainment, especially the first people who helped build it from scratch, were those who have been with the group for a long time. They knew the members' secrets, personal lives, all their dirt, and yet nothing got out, not even after some of them had already left the company. SB19 is undeniably talented, but they're humans, too. It's not impossible to think that they're imperfect, with many secrets that they surely wouldn't want anybody to know, and their people protected them.
The castle on the left could be the representation of the kingdom they built, the A'tin community, while the open book on the right could be the representation of the next era, a page, a chapter in their story. SB19 is called the PPOP Kings, and a monarch's story never ends, especially in medieval times. From fighting to secure your name as heir to the throne to wars you have to go through to keep the throne, not to mention everything you had to deal with in between. Assassinations, manipulations, and people who leech off of a monarch and the royal family for their own benefit. Sounds familiar? I bet it does. SB19 is surely not immune to such situations; they've been sharing some experiences they've had.
The way the five people were depicted in the tapestry could have been intentionally made to look like ancient Celtic Druids worshipping the tree. According to studies, Druids were scholars, healers, judges, and advisors to kings. They played an important role in leadership and community, shaping history in their own scholarly way. They have a strong connection to nature and helped preserve sacred tradition and history, and just like the ancient Druids, SB19 are helping shape the OPM industry with their unorthodox strategies and music that don't follow normal trends and markets. They are trying to guide our leaders and the government towards a better future.
Druids also believed in astrology and incorporated it with their spiritual beliefs and rituals, and even created their own Celtic Astrology. According to Google, it is based on the Tree Zodiac, where different trees are associated with specific time periods throughout the year. This system reflects the Druids' deep reverence for nature and their belief in the interconnectedness of all life. The Druids developed this astrological framework to understand the world around them and the individual's place within it. Key Elements of Druidic Astrology:
Connection with Nature: Each astrological sign in Druidic astrology corresponds to a specific tree, symbolizing various characteristics and energies. For example, the Oak tree represents strength, while the Birch signifies new beginnings.
Lunar Cycles: The Moon plays a crucial role in Druidic astrology, with lunar phases influencing rituals and personal reflections. Full moons are seen as times of culmination, while new moons signify potential and new beginnings.
Seasonal Changes: The changing seasons are vital in Druidic astrology, with the Celtic year divided into festivals that align with specific energies and themes. These festivals, such as Samhain and Beltane, are deeply connected to astrological observations.
Astrological Practices: The Druids used their astrological knowledge to guide agricultural practices, community events, and personal decisions, believing that celestial patterns could influence human affairs.
So, it is interesting that at the upper-middle part of the tapestry was what looked like a constellation, and all the hints they've dropped so far made it look like the universe will be heavily involved in this era's motifs and themes. But it is not the only thing that is worth noticing. All the EPs/albums of Ikalawang Yugto featured all the elements of nature: fire, water, earth, and wind. Here is the meaning of the elements:
Pagsibol with its openness, especially how the What? MV looked like - Air symbolizes intelligence, the unseen, and communication. It only takes one look at SB19 to recognize how intelligent each member is. They communicate with their listeners through their music, and when they speak, it's through our hearts. They know how to bring out the deepest, darkest fears and trauma, forcing us to face our demons and survive them.
Pagtatag, the explosive era - Fire signifies rebirth, transformation, creativity, passion, and energy. Those things perfectly describe SB19 and its members. They transformed themselves into something bigger than their dreams of becoming artists and performers. Creativity runs through their veins like it's their own blood. They have overflowing passion and energy, and when the biggest trial of their career happened, they were reborn into something more powerful and unstoppable.
Simula at Wakas: with its earthly colors - Earth represents stability, physicality, and groundedness. SB19 remained as humble and as hardworking as they were when they were just trainees. They trained hard and worked even harder to achieve everything they've ever had. They conditioned their bodies for the physically taxing routines and live singing, and they've been reaping what they sow since then.
Wakas at Simula with all the hints they've dropped so far - Water represents emotion, subconscious, intuition, fertility, cleansing, and stability. Like water, SB19 has developed a stable system among its members. They learned to connect, read each other, and even reflect each other's movement. They've been clear and honest with everything they've ever done, and they've always poured their emotions into everything they do.
The four elements are not only related to Druidic Astrology. Many cultures see astrology as a guide for life and decision-making. In Chinese Astrology, the fire signs are Aries, Leo, Sagittarius. Earth signs are Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn, while Air signs are Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius, then there's the water signs as Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces.
After dropping the tapestry photo, SB19 posted a group photo with what looked like dark clouds behind them as three of them stood on water and the other sat on rocks with their feet in the water. In astrology, dark clouds often indicate weather changes or impending rain. Metaphorically, dark clouds mean worries, problems, or impending difficulties. Spiritually and symbolically, it means divine presence and judgement. Emotionally and culturally, it could mean gloom, uncertainty, or sadness, but it could mean the balance between light and darkness. Water, on the other hand, metaphorically represents life, vitality, and the continuous cycle of existence. Spiritually, it represents purification, rejuvenation, and transformation, while symbolically, it represents emotional depth and intuition, and interconnectedness of everything. Emotionally, water represents deep emotion and intuition, self-reflection, understanding, healing, and release from negativity.
In my perspective, the Wakas at Album will encapsulate all of these meanings, and the whole album will be about truth, looking inwards, continuity, power, and balance. It already started with them landing their sixth song in the World Digital Song Sales chart, and the mixed reactions of people upon the release of their latest single, VISA, both showed the group's power. They can conquer unknown territories and provoke thoughts from their listeners, both fans and casuals, and they are just getting started.
